(VOV) -Russian ambassador Andrey G. Kovtun has affirmed his country’s willingness to offer incentive policy to assist Vietnam in building a nuclear power plant.

The Russian diplomat made the commitment at a December 28 meeting with provincial leaders on the construction of Ninh Thuan 1 nuclear power plant in the central coastal province of Ninh Thuan.
The two sides discussed issues relating to site clearance, resettlement, feasibility study, zoning plan, and investment of the nuclear power project.
Kovtun said in 2014 Russia will cooperate with the Vietnam Ministry of Foreign Affairs in sending local experts and officials to visit the Russian nuclear plant in Voronhez – a sister province of Ninh Thuan.
Russia will organize an online competition in March to help Vietnamese, Russian and international students gain a better understanding and contribute their ideas to nuclear power development, he revealed.
