(VOVworld) – President Truong Tan Sang met with voters in Ho Chi Minh city on Tuesday to brief them on the results of the just concluded National Assembly meeting. Voters questioned President Sang over a number of issues regarding anti-corruption efforts, the supervision of state corporations and groups, the shortcomings in education and training, the rise in prices, and the salary and incomes of state employees and laborers.
President Sang talked about anti-corruption efforts: “The Central Steering Committee for Corruption Prevention and Control has boosted the handling of pending cases and increased supervision activities. 8 work groups have been organized to coordinate with local anti-corruption agencies, which have already detected 60 cases. We hope that voters will continue to supervise and raise questions in order to bring everything to light. Corruption cases must be tried in accordance with the law.”
The same day, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc met with voters in Nong Son district in Quang Nam province. Voters praised National Assembly deputies’ contributions to revising the constitution and proposed that the legislature and government should invest more in inter-regional transport infrastructure, create favorable conditions for newly separated districts, and construct flood-proof buildings for flood-prone areas.
Deputy Prime Minister Phuc said that the party and state always care about the lives of people in disadvantaged and calamity-prone areas. He asked local authorities and people to work together to build new rural areas: “Issues related to social welfare, poverty reduction, the infrastructure, and irrigation will continue to receive attention. Quang Nam province will lay out new policies for disadvantaged districts in terms of agriculture and rural development.”
