Minh Hoa Investment JSC Boosting Vietnamese Brand

For 20 years of development and construction, Minh Hoa Investment Joint Stock Company has obtained remarkable achievements, the continuous development of personal, intellectual and material resources, and over all the confirmation of its position in the hearts of consumers. Mr Truong Quoc Cu, Director of the Company, had a talk with Vietnam Business Forum on the process of conquering the market by Minh Hoa.


Can you tell us about the outstanding results that the company has achieved since its establishment?


Beginning from a small store business supplying equipment for water industry, mainly pipes, valves and fittings, after carefully studying the situation of market as well as stringent and diversified demands of customers, Minh Hoa Company has decided to import pipes, valves, fittings from countries in the European region to serve domestic market. From that bold step, Minh Hoa has been growing and constantly achieved encouraging results.


First, we must mention the successful opening of the valve factory in Nam Thang Long Industrial Park, Thuy Phuong Commune, Tu Liem District, Hanoi. Minh Hoa since then became a leading professional manufacturer of valves and taps of Vietnam in 2005.


By the end of 2012, capacity and production of the Company increased ten times compared with the first year. Products are abundant and varied in design, and the product quality is also enhanced. Products of Minh Hoa are used by water supply companies and customers in all 63 provinces of the country. The company regularly wins the contract to supply water valves and equipment for the major water projects.


Every year, Minh Hoa provides around 6-8 million products and 2 million spare parts for the market. Not only supplying for the domestic market, the company has exported its products to the U.S., France, Germany, Myanmar, Laos, Cambodia, and the Middle East. Currently, the company has over 500 employees, nearly 200 automatic machines to produce nearly 200 kinds of products of valves made by copper alloy, zinc-aluminum alloy with main brands of Miha, MBV, MI, Daling, Tubo, Tura and nearly 100 types of spare parts and other mechanical details.


Minh Hoa always does its utmost to confirm its position as the leading professional manufacturer of valves and taps in Vietnam. In the near future, we will dominate the domestic market, replace imported products and bring goods to the world.


It is predicted that 2014 is still a difficult year for Vietnam business community. To ensure the sustainable development, what is Minh Hoa’s new strategy to boost the business?


The highlight feature that helped Minh Hoa overcome the storm of economic crisis is the policy of “quality is above all.” We always keep in mind that only quality products, ensuring health and safety for customers, can create and maintain the company’s reputation.


Besides, company executives determined that human resources are the base to create sustainable development of the company. Accordingly, the company is always interested in the selection of technology, training and development of human resources by sending its staff to study abroad or take short, medium or long term class; opening site training classes, advanced training for workers to meet the production requirements in the integration period.


In 2014, Minh Hoa will focus on building a national brand, boosting exports to international markets, accelerating technological innovation and improving labour productivity. At the same time, we will maintain the workforce to generate momentum as the economy recovers.


Minh Hoa is a Vietnamese business operating in the manufacturing sector with many products that are included in the list of import substitute products by the Ministry of Industry and Trade. Could you tell us more about this?


Recently, the products of Minh Hoa have been included in the list of import substitutes products under Decision 223/QD-BCT dated 13th February 2013 of the Ministry of Industry and Trade. This can be seen as the most valuable confirmation to the products of Minh Hoa. Minh Hoa’s products quality has been recognised comparable to imported goods, typically varied products of brass valves from DN8 – DN100 under BS standard. Some of our brands include Miha, MBV, MI, Tura, Daling and Tubo. All of these products are granted monopoly certification by the Intellectual Property Department. With the recognition from the authorities such as the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Department of Intellectual Property, we will have more confidence and motivation to realise the desire to replace imported products, in response to the “Vietnamese use Vietnamese products” campaign, creating solid momentum for penetrating the international market and contributing to confirm Vietnam’s brands.
