With the message “Sharing red blood, giving hope”, the festival will continue to be a destination of thousands of kind-hearted people.

According to Mr. Tri, the main participants this year are still expected to be students and pupils.

Going along with the festival are activities marking the 20th anniversary of the national blood donation drive, with an aim to collect one million units of blood.

In response to the festival, a blood donation program, Red Sunday, was held on January 12 across 10 provinces and cities, collecting nearly 16,000 units of blood. The amount of blood was distributed to localities to satisfy the demand for first-aid and medical treatment during the lunar New Year festival.

Red Spring Festival was first held in 2008, collecting 2,600 units of blood. After that, the festival received nearly 4,200 units in 2009, more than 10,000 in 2010 and 5,700 in 2011./.
