No Vietnamese deaths in Ukraine violence

(VOV) – Approximately 10,000 Vietnamese nationals residing in Ukraine and, no casualties have been reported in bloody clashes in the country, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.


Vietnamese people remain safe as they are currently living in such cities as Kharkov, Odessa, Kiev, Donetsk, and Kherson that are far from riot areas.


When violence escalated, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs asked the Vietnamese Embassy in Ukraine to inform Vietnamese agencies and people of unsecured places.

Vietnamese residents can contact the embassy through hot lines +380503320535/ +380503359097 or their relatives in Vietnam to contact the Hanoi-based Consular Department to receive immediate assistance in case of emergency.


The Vietnamese embassy in Ukraine is closely following the situation to protect its residents.


Following bloody clashes in Ukraine, many Vietnamese residents rushed to purchase food and petrol and several registered to return to Vietnam.


The embassy will create conditions for them to fly home soon, said ambassador Nguyen Minh Tri.


Over the past few days dozens of Ukrainian people have been killed in clashes between protestors and armed police in Kiev capital.
