(VOV) – In an effort to reduce individual transport, the Prime Minister has encouraged residents to use public transport, especially bicycles, in Hanoi, HCM City, Haiphong, Danang and Can Tho.
He asked ministries, sectors and the municipal People’s Committees of the above-mentioned localities to draw up, approve and implement a pilot project on public bike services in city centres.
He asked the Ministry of Finance and relevant ministries to revise regulations on road toll collection, management, and use, and issue guidelines on bike keeping fees in cities.
Many big cities in the world have developed a bicycling climate to create safe and inviting conditions for all residents and visitors.
