Nhan Dan Online – Senior Lieutenant General Pham Quy Ngo, member of the Party Central Committee and, Vice Minister of Public Security, died of liver cancer at 21.05pm on February 18 at the 108 Military Hospital in Hanoi, according to the Ministry of Public Security (MPS) Web Portal.
Senior Lieutenant General Pham Quy Ngo was born in 1954 in Dong Cuong commune, Dong Hung district, the northern province of Thai Binh.
On February 14, 2006, he was appointed as Deputy Head of the General Department of People’s Police (GDPP) under the Ministry of Public Security (MPS); and Head of the GDPP in January, 2008.
On January 1, 2010, he was appointed as Head of the General Police Department for Crime Prevention and Control under the MPS.
On August 12, 2010, the Police official was promoted as Vice Minister of Public Security.
At the 11th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam, Vice Minister Ngo was elected as member of the Party Central Committee.
He was promoted to the rank of Senior Lieutenant General of the MPS on July 22, 2013.
