(Cinet)- An art exhibition with the theme “A Woman’s view” will be held by the Goethe Institute to celebrate the International Woment’s Day (March 08).
The exhibition will displays works of all mediums from Nguyen Thi Chau Giang, Nguyen Huu Tram Kha, Chinh Le, Phi Oanh, Dinh Thi Tham Poong, Vu Kim Thu and Maritta Nurmi.
“A woman’s view is meant to carve out space to celebrate and to examine the essence of the female spirit and the ways in which this spirit transmutes into art. This exhibition intends to honor women for who they are, what they do and how they view the world. Many of the artworks in this show are memory based – inspired by historical traditions, crafts and rituals and intimate familial musings”, said the curator of this show, Suzanne Lecht.
The catalogue of the exhibition includes an essay by Natalja Kraevskaja about “A shifting platform with Traditional accessories -Views and practice of contemporary women artists in Vietnam”.
Opening from 9am to 7pm, the event will last March 23 at Goethe Institute Hanoi, 56-58 Nguyen Thai Hoc street, Ba Dinh district.
As a closing event of the exhibition, there will be a Women’s cinema night on March 23 with short films by film makers of Hanoi DocLab, moderated by Nguyen Trinh Thi.
