PANO – Army units stationed in Bac Ninh province and leaders of the province and Bac Ninh provincial city will tighten their cooperation in building defence areas, upholding political security, social order and safety, and meeting the province’s set socio-economic development targets.
The agreement was reached on March 24th at a meeting hosted by the University of Politics.
On behalf of the army units, Lieutenant General Tran Trung Khuong, Commissar of the university, informed the participants of their achievements in coordinating with the locality last year.
Accordingly, the university twinned with 12 local communes and wards, sent more than 3,000 cadres and trainees to assist the locals in upgrading inter-village roads, dredge irrigation canals, and presented gifts valued at VND 172 million to policy beneficiaries.
Other units, including Brigade 229, Hospital 110, Viettel and MB branches in Bac Ninh province, offered free health check-ups, medicines and built numerous houses of gratitude and compassion for the locals.
Speaking highly of the coordination on eliminating hunger and reducing poverty, building new rural areas and meeting socio-economic development goals, Nguyen Si, Deputy Permanent Secretary of Bac Ninh Provincial Party Committee, laid stress on further cooperation between the army units and the localities in the time to come.
