Da Nang releases wild animals into nature

The GreenViet Biodiversity Conservation Centre (GreenViet) and the forest management force of Da Nang city released two wild animals into nature on March 5.


On March 3, GreenViet and the Forest Management Office of Son Tra district and Ngu Hanh Son district, Da Nang city, received a python molurus, from a family in Hoa Cuong Bac ward, Hai Chau district, Da Nang city.


After examining the individual and determining it to be in good health, on March 5, GreenViet and the Forest Management Office released it into the Son Tra nature reserve.


On the same day, volunteers of the Education for Nature – Vietnam (ENV) uncovered an Asian Palm Civet (scientific name of paradoxurus hermaphroditus), which was being illegally held captive at a café in Ha Khe street, Thanh Ke district, Da Nang city. The ENV and the Da Nang city Forest Management Department persuaded the owner of the animal to voluntarily surrender it.


At noon of the March 5, the Forest Management Department also released the civet into Son Tra nature reserve./.
