VGP – Viet Nam-Japan trade in the first two months of 2014 is estimated to value at US$4.02 billion, a year-on-year increase of 15.1%.
The figure includes Viet Nam’s export of US$2.2 billion, up 22.8% and its import of US$1.7 billion, an increase of 6.3%.
Japan is the crucial trade partner of Viet Nam, accounting for 10% of the Southeast Asian country’s total trade value.
In 2013, two-way trade with Japan attained US$24.3 billion, up 2.4% and ranked fourth in the turnovers Viet Nam made with its trade partners.
Of the figure, Viet Nam’s import was made at US$13.65 billion and its export was US$11.61 billion.
In the year, Viet Nam set new record in export to theUnited Arab Emirates (UAE) with US$4.14 billion, up 99%, according to the Ministry of Industry and Trade.
Export of phones and accessories ranked first among items sold to the UAE, reaching US$3.42 billion, accounting for 83%.
The products were followed by computers, electronics and spare parts with US$207.4 million, accounting for 5%, and garment with US$83.7 million, accounting for 2%.
