Authorities in the Mekong Delta province of Tra Vinh have ordered contractors working on some electricity projects to legalize their unlicensed Chinese workers, saying they will not be allowed to work otherwise, Tuoi Tre (Youth) newspaper reported recently.
According to the province’s Coastal Thermal Electric Project, 468 foreigners, mostly Chinese, are working illegally at power projects.
The Tra Vinh government has ordered the contractors to quickly furnish the workers’ qualification certificates, criminal records, and other documents.
If they fail to do so, the unlicensed workers will be prohibited from working.
