Hung praised both sides for signing the 2014-2018 action programm to realize the strategic partnership.

It is essential for ministries, sectors to work together on the effective implementation of the action programme, paying the way for the two countries to improve practical cooperation in the two peoples’ interest.

Regarding parliamentary cooperation, the Vietnamese NA leader suggested the two legislatures offer each other support at international and regional forums like the General Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) and the ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly (AIPA) and closely coordinate in carrying out agreements effectively and properly.

On the East Sea issue, Hung applauded Indonesia’s six-point Principle on the East Sea and asked regional parties concerned to fully implement ASEAN-China agreements aiming to ensure peace and maritime security and safety for a stable regional environment.

Indonesian speaker Sidarto Danusubroto, in return, affirmed that similarities between Vietnam and Indonesia will provide a firm foundation for developing their strategic partnership and becoming two economic and political pillars in the region.

He also agreed with Mr Hung on the need to step up the comprehensive cooperation in economics, culture and education and promote peace in the East Sea.

The East Sea issue should be resolved through peaceful means and dialogues to bring stability to the region and Vietnam and Indonesia will increase cooperation for this goal, said Danusubroto.

Hung invited Danusubroto to attend the 132nd General Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU-132) scheduled for March 2015 in Hanoi.
