(VOV) – Vice Chairwoman of the Vietnam National Assembly Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan on March 4 received professor Keizon Takemi, a member of the House of Councillors of Japan, who is on a visit to Hanoi.

Ngan noted Vietnam-Japan relations have developed strongly in recent times, especially after the two countries established the strategic partnership for peace and prosperity in Asia.

She appreciated Japan’s effective assistance to Vietnam and said Vietnam wants to boost cooperation with Japan in finalising the market economy institutions, generating quality human resources, and develop consistent infrastructure.

Ngan proposed that in his capacity Professor Takemi continue supporting Vietnam with Japanese ODA funded projects and calling on Japanese companies to build medical equipment and pharmaceuticals manufacturing factories in Vietnam.

Professor Takemi said during his current Vietnam visit, he wants to share Japan’s experience in health insurance, especially in managing health insurance funds and running health care models for the elderly.

He vowed to work hard to increase friendship and cooperation between the two countries, as well as between the Japanese Diet and the Vietnam National Assembly.
