Over 160 films compete for the Golden Kite Awards

(Cinet)- More than 160 cinematic works have registered to compete for the 2013 Golden Kite Awards, the annual Vietnamese film awards organised by the Vietnam Cinematography Association .


The awards aim to honour outstanding works and individuals in seven categories, namely film, animation, documentary, TV series, short film, scientific film and cinematic commentary.


Organizers will present the Golden Kite, Silver Kite and certificates for titles such as Best Screenwriter, Best Director, Best Cameraman, Best Art Designer, Best Sound Designer, Best Music Designer, Best Actress, Best Actor, Best Supporting Actor and Best Supporting Actress.


The award ceremony is scheduled to take place in Hanoi on March 15. Prior to the ceremony, participating films will be screened for free at the National Cinema Centre, the August Cinema and Ngoc Khanh Cinema from March 10-14.


The national Golden Kite Awards have been held in March annually since 2003 to honour the best cinematographic works and artists of the year.
