The houses along Highway 50 in Phong Phu Commune, Binh Chanh District, HCM City reluctantly became basements after the highway was upgraded.
The Highway 50 connecting HCM City to Tien Giang has a total length of over 95 km. After a period of degradation, in March 2007, the Ministry of Transportation upgraded this route. The section crossing Binh Chanh district is about 12 km long.
