(Cinet)- On Vietnam Book Day on April 21, some activities have been held across the country in response to the first- ever Vietnam Book Day.
Bac Giang provincial library organized a talk themed ” Studying and following a moral example of HCM about giving a private responsibility; an exhibition to display 3000 books themed ” Studying and following a moral example of HCM” and “Dien Bien voice”
The same day, in the northern province of Hai Duong, an exhibition opened showing 2,000 books as well as precious collections, such as Dien Bien Phu victory and its memories, cultural celebrities, and national history and geography, among others.
In addition, the Thai Nguyen provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism also held a book festival on April 20 with the theme of ‘Books – Key to Success’.
More than 3,500 titles were also on display at the third book festival in the central province of Phu Yen.
The annual event aims to encourage and develop reading in the community, while raising public awareness of the significance of books, not only as a source of knowledge but as a way to develop one’s thoughts and personality.
The festival featured books with typical subjects, such as Dien Bien Phu Victory, national seas and islands, the 60th anniversary of the capital city, and Vietnam’s World Cultural Heritage sites.
