(VOV) -According to the latest FIFA rankings for May 2014, Vietnam has retained its No.1 position in Southeast Asia and 116th in the world.

The Philippines ranked second in the region (140th in the world), followed by Thailand (143rd), Malaysia (145th) and Singapore (147th).
In the last month, the Vietnamese squad has not participated in any international competitions, resulting in an exchanged position on the FIFA ratings.
In Asia, Vietnam was placed No. 16, while Iran (37th in the world) took the lead, followed by Japan (47th), Uzbekistan (53rd), the Republic of Korea (55th) and Australia (59th).
The world’s top three include Spain, Germany and Portugal. Notably, Brazil climbed two notches to 4th position.
The next FIFA rankings will be released on June 6.
