Artist Ngo Manh Lan
Through the stories he told, we can understand: the propaganda paintings and posters in the 9 years of resistance war against French colonialists 1946-1954 was made in the difficult time or war, though it was made by hand only or with very simple technique, lithographic methods, wood-block prints or few in fried clay. It has a language for itself as an art form, which possesses a strong power of aesthetic expression and meets the aesthetic taste of the broad masses. It reflects the important events in our national history, the guidelines and policies of our Party and State as well as the people’s activities in the resistance war against French invaders, thus making a significant contribution to the triumph of the Resistance.
