The Hanoitimes – A number of churches in Hanoi still possess ancient architecture and exquisite beauty of the cathedral despite its 80-100 years old.
Cathedral is located on Nha Chung street, the residential area of the city, where the religious activities are held. This area is also the place crowded with tourists and the youth.
The Catholic Church built a church of brick worth about 200,000 Francs from 1884 to 1888.
Large space inside the church is considered one of the most ancient and beautiful place of Vietnam. Sanctuary zones carved withwooden flowers are combined with stained glass paintings.
Cathedral was built following Gothic style architecture of Europe and the form of the Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris with curved arches.
