Vice chairman Thich talked with foreign experts at Dung Quat Refinery on June 17



​Chairman of Provincial People’s Council Mr. Tran Ngoc Cang, vice-chairman of Provincial People’s Committee Mr. Le Quang Thich and vice chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Quang Ngai province, Mr. Le Van Sau have recently paid a site visit to Dung Quat Oil Refinery (DQR) which is under high speed of the 2nd turnaround.

The high-level wide-range leader delegation met with BSR’s leaders after taking a tour around the refinery.


BSR said that 3,400 people have been mobilized for the turnaround, of the total BSR’s workers and engineers are recorded to be 1,400 people.


It revealed that the 57-day turnaround has been implemented smoothly, securely, and safely to ensure the project quality. This step is evaluated to be very important for its improvement in future.


The progress of maintenance has been under control as scheduled, and DQR will re-operate at full designed capacity on July 2, 2014.


Provincial leaders praised BSR for its advanced arrangements for workers and experts at site and highly appreciated good and effective cooperation between BSR and contractors in maintenance activities.


However, they reminded BSR to ensure qualification, safety, security, saving and schedule to put the refinery into operation soon.


Built by the Technip Consortium at over $US 3 billion, the 6,5 million-ton-crude-oil-per-year refinery meeting 30 % of domestic gasoline consumption – is the first one in Vietnam.


It is the symbol of Vietnam industry, playing an important role in economic development and national energy security.
