On the afternoon of June 17th 2014, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of the Netherlands Mark Rutte visited Haiphong city and attended the groundbreaking ceremony of the Project of Warehousing Service Center of Hai Phong C.Steinweg Co., Ltd – member of C.Steinweg Group and the launching ceremony of a newly built tugboat of Damen-Song Cam Joint Venture.Accompanying Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte were the Netherlands Ambassador to Vietnam, Vietnam Ambassador to the Netherlands and a Dutch business delegation. “Damen has been in Vietnam for over 20 years, specializing in the fields of maritime industry and other industries” said the Leader of Damen-Song Cam Joint Venture. Three months after the inauguration ceremony, the first ship was launched in the witness of the Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte, leaders of Haiphong city and the Ministry of Transport. This shows good result on the relations between Damen and Vietnamese partners, contributing positively to the cooperation affinity of the two countries. Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte delighted at the development of Damen-Song Cam Joint Venture, a symbol of cooperation relation between the Netherlands and Vietnam, especially when the plant is built in the city of Haiphong, a luscious land with the spirit of entrepreneurship, dynamism andplenty of growth potentials. The premier believed that with hundreds of years of experience along with advanced technology, the Dutch shipbuilding industry will help develop Haiphong (Vietnam) shipbuilding sector and asserted his belief in the development of Vietnam. Prime Minister Mark Rutte expressed his gratitude for Vietnamese Government and Haiphong city, desiring to tighten the friendship for the prosperity of the two nations. Mr. Nguyen Van Thanh, Member of Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, Secretary of Haiphong’s Party Committee cum Chairman of Haiphong People’s Council warmly welcomed Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte and the delegation to Hai Phong, wished them a successful working trip and desired a more sustainable and flourishing relation between Vietnam and the Netherlands. On this occasion, on behalf of the city leaders, city Party Secretary Nguyen Van Thanh awarded Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte the image icon of Cat Ba langur – an endemic species that can be found only in the city of Haiphong. * At the ground-breaking ceremony of C.Steinweg’s warehouse complex at Dinh Vu-Cat Hai economic zone of Haiphong, General Director of C.Steiweg Group (Netherlands) stated that the Group has foreseen tremendous growth potential of Haiphong and decided to build a bonded logistics hub in Dinh Vu Industrial Zone on an area of 150,000 m2. The Group also saw investment opportunities in Haiphong and found the Group’s development strategy suitable with the city’s planning. He strongly believed in the success of the project which would contribute to boosting the development and deepening the attractiveness of Haiphong. And this will serve as a symbol for the development cooperation between Vietnam and the Netherlands. Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte expressed his pleasure at his working visit in Haiphong. Coming here for the first time, he touched the intimate and close-knit feeling as at home as Haiphong is a dynamic city with the port system sharing similarities with the Port of Rosterdam of the Netherlands.Over 167 years of development, the group has made a great contribution with special strengths in sea port and warehousing services. Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte trusted and hoped that the Group’s presence in Haiphong will help upgrade the position of a forwarding and logistics center in the the Northern Vietnam as well as tighten the relationship between businesses of the two countries, bringing about good benefits for both sides. |
