International cooperation in natural resources and environment to implement

According to the Department of International Cooperation under the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, from now until the end of 2014, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment will host, jointly organize a series of bilateral and multilateral conferences on many areas of natural resources and environment.


Specifically, the 11th conference of the Vietnam – China joint working group on meteorological scientific and technical cooperation; 5th Summit in Greater Mekong Subregion (GMS), 20th GMS Ministerial Conference, 6 rounds of negotiations on cooperation in less sensitive areas at sea between Vietnam and China, ASEAN Working Group on Climate Change (AWGCC), 11th Vietnam – South Korea Environment Ministers Meeting, 13th Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity (COP13), 20th Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP20) and the 10th Meeting of the Parties to the Kyoto Protocol (CMP10).



International cooperation and mobilization of funding for key programs and projects of the industry along with strengthening management, improving quality and efficiency of the deployment of programs, international cooperation projects of Ministry will be promoted.


In the first 6 months of 2014, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment held a meeting of the international organizations, embassies and donors. The Ministry also has proposed Prime Minister to list support program to respond to climate change (SP-RCC) in the list of priority programs and projects using ODA. In addition, the Ministry is implementing a memorandum of cooperation with the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment of the Russian Federation in the field of geology and the use of mineral resources. The funding agreement have been signed between the Government of Australia and the Government of Vietnam on studying the impact of hydropower projects on the mainstream of Mekong River. The Memorandum of Understanding on environmental cooperation with the Turkey’s Environment and Urban Ministry.
