Until July 15, the enterprises still did not pay salaries and many other regimes to laborers as pledged.>> JK Electronic Co., Ltd.’s workers strike

Until the afternoon of July 15, Mr. Kim Jong Kun, Director-general of JK Electronic Co., Ltd., was still not present at the company and unable to be contacted to pay wages and give health insurance cards to laborers as he announced on July 9.

The company’s arrears of workers’ salaries and social insurance and debts to its partners and customers have amounted to over VND5.6 billion, according to the company’s chief accountant Nguyen Thi Nga.

There remains VND35 million in the company’s account at Hai Duong branch of the Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Foreign Trade of Vietnam, and the company still has to recover about VND1.1 billion of sale proceeds from Creyns Ha Noi Co., Ltd. (Dong Tho commune, Yen Phong district, Bac Ninh).

The company has halted operation because machinery and production equipment were moved to another location by Mr. Kim Jong Kun.

Functional agencies on the morning of July 15 asked Quang Lan Garment and Textile Co., Ltd. (renting its premises out to JK Electronic Co., Ltd. for production) to coordinate with office staff to temporarily protect the assets and documents of JK Electronic Co., Ltd. and required the workers and laborers not to have extreme actions.

The functional agencies will soon have settlement plans to ensure legitimate rights and interests of employees and employers.

* By July 15 (term as committed), Ms. Truong Thi Duyen, Director of Thien Duyen Garment and Trade One Member Co., Ltd., was absent, unable to be contacted, and yet to pay the salaries of March and May to workers.

Earlier, Ms. Duyen pledged that if the debts were not paid on time, all assets of the company would belong to the workers. However, the value of the assets is not enough to clear the debts, making the workers very bewildered.

Mr. Pham Tien Dung, Director of Viet Duong One Member Co., Ltd., has taken back workshops and some machines he previously rented out to Thien Duyen Company to continue production.

In early July, Ms. Duyen paid VND20.7 million of money for food purchase to the people.
