On July 22, the Ministry of Education and Training held a ceremony to present certificates of merit from the Minister of Education and Training, to five Vietnamese students who have bagged three gold and two silver medals at the 45thInternational Olympiad.


The medal count gave the Vietnamese delegation a spot in the top ten of the competition overall, the highest achievement to date for Vietnamese students at the International Physics Olympiads.


Deputy Minister of Education and Training, Nguyen Thi Nghia, congratulated the delegation on their achievements. She said that the achievements were gained thanks to the effort of both the teachers and students, starting from studying movement in each school. The teachers are credited with inspiring the passion of scientific study and research in each of the students and the students with their effort to improve their knowledge, bringing glory to their families, schools and the homeland.


Reporting the results by the Vietnamese students at the event, the head of the Vietnamese delegation, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen The Khoi, said that the Olympiad drew the participation of more than 380 students from 85 countries and territories. All five Vietnamese students won medals./
