Nhan Dan – Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc has required Binh Dinh authorities to implement drastic measures to speed up land clearances for the National Highway No. 1A expansion project running through the province.

Speaking at a working session with Binh Dinh province’s leaders on August 2, the deputy PM requested local authorities to co-ordinate with related ministries and agencies to focus aggressively on resolving difficulties in land clearance and resettlement to ensure the project’s progress.

The province should mobilise officials from the provincial, district and grassroots levels to visit land clearance sites to encourage locals and to directly discuss their problems and complaints, as well as to creatively implement support policies to benefit local residents in handling bottlenecks during land clearance and resettlement works.

The leader also agreed with the province’s suggestions to advance funds for the expansion and upgrading of segments under the National Highway No. 19 and No. 1D which run through the locality, as well as Phu Cat Airport.

For cultural projects, Deputy PM Phuc asked related authorities in collaboration with provincial leaders to work out a plan to seek UNESCO cultural heritage recognition for Binh Dinh’s bai choi (singing while playing cards) singing.

They should also collaborate while allocating funding to repair and upgrade the Emperor Quang Trung Museum and many other national monuments in the province.
