(VOVworld) – The death toll from a powerful earthquake that hit the west of China’s Yunnan province five days ago has risen to 615, with 114 more people missing, China’s authorities said.
According to the latest figures, more than 80,000 houses collapsed and around 220,000 people have been evacuated. Yunnan province has received more than 330 million yuan in support following the damage. Thousands of rescuers have been sent to the disaster area to help with the rescue work.
