The event, “Pitching Workshop,” to be organized by British Council in collaboration with Yxine Film Fest and Redbridge aims to support young filmmakers and look for potential film projects for the local market.

According to the organizers, workshop participants will have a chance to learn how to develop a film project pitch, to receive advice from local film experts, and have the possibility of getting support for their film projects.

The workshop will be addressed by local film director Victor Vu and film producers Tran Thi Bich Ngoc, Ngo Thi Bich Hien, and Vu Quynh Ha.

British film producer and expert on pitching Paul Welsh will be an instructor at the workshop.

He is the producer of Skeletons (2010), which was nominated for the Outstanding Debut Feature at 64th British Film Academy Film Awards in 2011.

In 2013, Welsh’s co-produced film Lore received the Feature Film Production of the Year Award at the 2013 Screen Producers Australia Awards.

The workshop will be conducted in English with Vietnamese translation and is free of charge for filmmakers.

The event will open to 30 participants who will be chosen after sending their film projects by September 5 to nganvu@redbridgevn.com in Hanoi and pitchingworkshop2014@gmail.com in Ho Chi Minh City.

The list of chosen participants is scheduled to be announced on September 15.
