General Prayuth Chan-ocha is named interim Prime Minister
(VOVworld) – Thailand’s National Legislative Assembly elected General Prayuth Chan-ocha as interim prime minister on Thursday.
He was the only candidate for this post and gained 191 votes among 194 members of the assembly. He will officially become a new Prime Minister once approved by King Bhumibol Adulyadej.
This will enable the establishment of a new government in the coming weeks.
