In the first 6 months of 2014, Hai Phong tourism sector welcomed and served nearly 2.4 million tourist arrivals, an increase of 7.10% over the same period in 2013, fulfilling 46.10% of the year plan, in which theforeigners fetched288 thousand arrivals. Revenue from tourism attained over VND one trillion, a rise of 7.95% over the same period in 2013, gaining 49.98% of the year plan.
The majority of international tourists coming to Haiphong find Cat Ba an engaging destination while others take inner-city or countryside tours to some locations as Vinh Bao, Thuy Nguyen, Tien Lang.Many tourism events have been organized such as the Red Flamboyant Festival, the opening of Cat Ba and Do Son Tourism season, which has contributed to advertising Haiphong tourism to domestic and international tourists. The city has directed relevant sectors and districts to sternly perform their responsibility in managing prices, transport services on land and waterways, accommodation services and restaurants. Besides, businesses have invested in upgrading tourism facilities and improving the quality of human resources and tourism services. |
