Currently, the total area for planting annually in the commune is 2,10ha, with the sugar cane plants accounting for over 80%. During thee 3 consecutive years from 2011 to 2013, Son Phuoc communes has always been commended by KCP Vietnam Industrial Company Ltd. for being the commune with the highest output of purchased sugarcane of all the communes in the district. The sugarcane plants are bringing about the average annual revenue of 200 million dongs to 500 million dongs to a lot of households here.
In Son Phuoc commune,local people not only plant sugarcane, raise cows but lots of households have developed farm economy, bringing about high economic value. Currently, in Son Phuoc commune, 7 households have developed farm economy, 3 of which have been issued the certificates of farm economy combining agriculture with forestry. Each household has the farm area of 10ha, bringing about the annual revenue from 700 million dongs to nearly 1 billion dongs. The remaining 4 households earn the annual revenue from 100 million dongs to nearly 700 million dongs.
