(VOV) -Around VND1,254 billion will be invested in building a seaport, which is able to receive foreign tourist ships, in Phu Quoc island.
The decision was made on October 3 by representatives of the Transport Ministry and leaders of Kien Giang southern province.
The port will be built in Duong Dong township to receive cruise ships each with between 5,000-6,000 passengers.
Kien Giang has called Vingroup to invest in the project after the private-public partnership (PPP) model.
Deputy Minister of Transport Nguyen Van Cong has asked the Vietnam Maritime Administration to cooperate with Portcoast Consultant Corporation and Vingroup to make a financial plan for the construction.
