Northern province gives support to guest workers

The People’s Committee of the northern province of Vinh Phuc has issued a decision promulgating the management, organization and some policies supporting labourers going to work abroad in 2014 and 2015.

According to the decision, guest workers will be assisted in vocational training, fees for passports and visas, health check-ups and judicial profiles, with priority given to ethnic minority and disadvantaged labourers.

Under the decision, each guest worker who is a revolutionary contributors’ relative, ethnic minority, or simply comes from a poor family will receive VND1 million for each vocational training course, VND3 million for each foreign language training course, VND530,000 for necessary knowledge training, and VND2 million for fee support for passports, visas, health check-ups and judicial profiles.


Other groups of guest workers will be given VND700,000 each for vocational training, VND2.1 million for foreign language training, and VND1.4 million for fee for passports, visas, health check-ups and judicial profiles, according to the decision.


In addition, the provincial People’s Committee will also support loans for all labour export contract fees, Those labourers coming from the preferential groups who will also receive loans without any interest to pay in the first year.


For other groups of labourers, the province will allow loans worth 80% of the labour contracts and enjoy support for 30% of the loan interest within 12 initial months./.
