The Overseas Labour Management Department has recently said that since the beginning of the year until late September, 83,369 Vietnamese labourers were employed abroad, accounting for 95.83% of the year’s plan. The department took statistics from enterprises showing that in September alone, the number of workers travelling abroad was 9,642, including 5,421 labourers going to Taiwan (China), 1,892 to Japan, 1,085 to the Republic of Korea, 425 to Malaysia, 422 to Saudi Arabia. The over 83,000 figure, saw a year-on-year increase of 132.63%, according to the department. The leading markets that received Vietnamese labourers were still Taiwan (49,956 labourers), then Japan (14,498 labourers), the Republic of Korea (5,700 labourers), Malaysia (4,258 labourers), the Saudi Arabia (2,829 labourers), and other markets./. |
