A Vietnam Airlines aircraft on its way from Seoul to HCM City was compelled to suddenly land in Taiwan on October 5 so a South Korean passenger could receive medical treatment after fainting.
An official from Vietnam Airlines said flight VN421 departed from Busan International Airport in Seoul 10am on October 5.

Just under two hours after departure, the flight crew discovered that a 69-year-old South Korean man had fallen unconscious and smelled of alcohol.
The crew called for assistance from any doctors on board for assistance with first aid, but the passenger did not recover. The captain then decided make an unscheduled landing in Kaohsiung City, Taiwan.
The crew cooperated with local authorities in Kaohsiung to get the passenger to the nearest hospital and unload the passenger’s and his wife’s luggage.
The man is still undergoing treatment. The aircraft made its second departure at 1:55pm on that day and arrived in HCM City at 4pm, three hours behind schedule.
On September 29, another Vietnam Airlines flight on the way from Frankfurt, Germany to Hanoi also made an unscheduled landing at Henri Coan Airport in Romania in order to provide a 22-year-old passenger from South Korea with first aid when he had difficulty breathing.
