HA NOI (VNS) – About 400 soldiers imprisoned during the resistance wars met President Truong Tan Sang in the capital yesterday to mark the 60th anniversary of Ha Noi’s Liberation Day on October 10.
The event provided an opportunity for the former inmates to recount their efforts to survive physical and mental hardship under their French and American jailers.
Sang hailed the sacrifices they made for the liberation of Viet Nam, and called upon them to continue contributing to nation-building and development. – VNS
