(CPV) - Export turnover of agriculture, forestry and seafood products reached an estimated USD2.66 billion in November, bringing the figure for the first 11 months of 2014 to USD28.2 billion, a year-on-year rise of 12.1%, reported the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development of Vietnam (MARD). Major agricultural products earned an export turnover of USD13.19 billion, up 10.5% while seafood products were valued at USD7.22 billion, up 19.3% and export turnover of forestry products hit USD5.88 million, up 12.9%. Specifically, rice export volume in November reached 443,000 tonnes, valued at USD217 million, bringing the total volume for the 11 months to USD6.03 million tonnes, worth USD2.79 billion. The ten-month figure represented a 2.7% decrease in volume but a 1.9% increase in value against the same period last year. During the period, coffee enjoyed the strongest export growth with a year-on-year rise of 33.4% in volume at 1.56 million tonnes and a year-on-year surge of 33.2% in value at USD3.26 billion. Rubber exports experienced volume rise but witnessed a decline in value over the past 11 months. The country exported 954,000 tonnes of rubber (up 0.5%), worth USD1.62 billion (down 27%). Tea exports saw the reverse with a reduction in volume but a rise in value at 5.2% (121,000 tonnes) and 0.3% (USD206 million), respectively./. |
