In his speech, Cambodian Minister of Information Khieu Kanharidth thanked the Vietnamese Government for sponsoring the construction of 12 radio stations throughout the country since 2008, helping Cambodia broaden radio coverage to every corner of the country, mostly in rural areas.
(VOV) -A FM radio station broadcast at a frequency of 94MHz with the assistance of the Radio Voice of Vietnam (VOV) was inaugurated in Cambodia’s northwestern province of Banteay Meanchey on November 29.
The new station will help the locals get easier access to information from the National Radio Station and also act as a bridge linking residents and authorities in resolving local socio-economic issues, the Cambodian Minster said.
Over the past years, VOV has also supported Cambodia in operating radio facilities and producing programmes.
Additional four Vietnamese-funded radio stations are projected to enter operations in Phnom Penh and other localities in the coming time.
