Phu Yen Provincial Youth Union has just conducted a preliminary after three years deploying the campaign “Phu Yen Youth joining hands to build new countryside” in the 2011-2014 period, setting targets and tasks for the future time. In his talk with Phu Yen Newspaper, Deputy Secretary of Phu Yen Provincial Youth Union, Mr. Phan Xuan Hanh, let known:
– During the last 3 years, Phu Yen youths have done many works, carving such a good impression in the hearts of the people; particularly, the youth work of “Lightening up countryside roads” and concreting rural routes. So far, the Youth Union at all levels in the province have installed 876 bulbs on more than 23 roads of 26,626km-length in 23 communes of 9 districts and town, with a total budget of more than VND 305 million; concreting over 135 km of rural roads with over 9,500 working days…
Furthermore, the Youth Union at all levels have also organized activities for social security; in particular, sponsoring 729 students with especially difficult circumstances at risk of school dropout with the monthly donation of VND 150,000 to VND 250,000 for each; mobilizing officials, youths and the Youth Union members, philanthropists, agencies, businesses … inside and outside the province to donate more than 1,000 scholarships to needy students with the total value of over VND 690 million; checking heath, freely distributing drug to more than 6,500 turns of people in difficult situations with the total value of nearly VND 2 billion …
* For the effective implementation and contributations to the locality and to successfully deploy the campaign, what plan has the Provincial Youth Union established, Sir?
– In the coming time, the Standing Committee of the Provincial Youth Union will focus on directing Youth Union at all levels to boost the effective implementation for the plan by the Provincial Youth Union on participating in new rural construction program for the period of 2013-2020; in particular, persisting long-term goals. Specifically, by 2020, there won’t be any hungry households; young families will be helped out of poverty in a sustainable way. Each year, the bases of the Youth Union participate in repairing and maintaining a minimum of 100 kilometers of rural roads and 50km inland irrigation canals; building and upholding the effective performance for collaborative groups, youth cooperatives, savings teams in communes …
Besides, Youth Union at all levels continue to coordinate with the Steering Committee of the National Target Program for building new rural areas in the province, related departments, sectors and agencies to mobilize social resources to support fund to developing items, works. The Standing Committee of the Provincial Youth Union will direct and guide the organizations and the basis of the Youth Union as related to advocating members to actively join in implementing the production development program, restructuring crops, livestock, reducing poverty, protecting the environment, maintaining social security and order; particularly, promoting the effective implementation of the models and projects, including the Project of 15 rural bridges in the districts of Tay Hoa, Phu Hoa, Son Hoa, Dong Hoa, Tuy An, Dong Xuan; the residential model “green – clean – beautiful – safe – civilized” … contributing to successfully implementing the proposed criteria.
