The increase was primarily due to a surge in consumption demand. The market expansion helped businesses maintain their production and trading.
According to the Hai Duong Statistics Office, the provincial industrial production index in the first 11 months of the year rose up 10.1% compared to the same period of last year, 2.6% higher than the national average growth rate. Of which, the extractive industry climbed by 21.2%; the processing and manufacturing industry, 11.4%; the production and distribution of electricity, gas, hot water, steam, and air conditioners, 4.3%; etc.
These increases were primarily due to a surge in consumption demand. The market expansion helped businesses maintain their production and trading.
However, despite high growth, the industry still principally focused on the trades of textiles and garments, leather and footwares, automobile assembly, electronics, etc.; thus, the added value of the products was yet to remarkably improve. The speed of technological and equipment innovation failed to satisfy development requirements, and production inputs still mainly depended on importation.
