On December 20th, at Son Hoa Sugar Factory, Vietnam KCP Industrial Limited Company (KCP) commenced the sugarcane-squeezing crop of 2014-2015.

Mr. KVSR Subbaiah, KCP General Director, let known, in the 2013-2014 crop, the company pressed more than 967,000 tons at the company’s two factories in Dong Xuan and Son Hoa, a decrease of 5.2% from the previous crop; producing 113,078 tonnes of sugar. The company bought sugarcane from farmers at discounted prices of from VND 880,000 to VND 930,000 /ton at the field, based on sugar content; contributing VND 85 billion to the national budget; contributing VND 4.8 billion to rural area development and charitable activities …
By the 2014-2015 crop, the Company continues maintaining its operation at the two plants in the districts of Son Hoa and Dong Xuan with the total pressing-capacity of 6,000 tons/ day to ensure the sugarcane purchase as committing. The Company expects to press 679,000 tons of sugar cane, producing 84,500 tons of sugar. To create stable material sources for the plants, the Company invested VND 230 billion into the material area of nearly 19,000ha. Besides, the Company continues to apply the national technical regulations of QCVN 01-98: 2012/BNNPTNT to assess sugar content (CCS) and percentage of impurities; implementing the sugarcane purchase policy in the field according to three price ranges (VND 890,000; VND 920,000; VND 940,000 / ton),based on CCS groups.
Addressing at the ceremony, PPC Vice Chairman, Mr. Le Van Truc, appreciated the Company’s effort, determination to overcome the difficulties in procuring and processing sugar in recent years and the 2013-2014 crop. Entering the 2014-2015 season, PPC Vice Chairman recommended the Company and sugarcane planters continue to promote the achievements, maintain closer cooperation between the Company and farmers in terms of investment into production, harvesting and processing sugar cane; further enhancing the responsibilities of related parties in investing and consuming products; promoting mechanization, irrigation in sugarcane production; bringing new varieties of high yield and high quality in producing; building more intensive sugar cane fields with the yield of 100 tons/ha; simultaneously, implement intensive farming for higher productivity and sugarcane quality of the entire material area of over 70 tons/ha in order to reduce production costs, improving the products’ competitiveness.
