| (CPV) – The National Fund for Vietnamese Children (NFVC) on December 21st in collaboration with the Hai Phong city People’s Committee and the city Department of Labor, War-Invalids and Social Affairs, presented 110 scholarships “Together with you to school”, each worth VND3 million, to disadvantaged children in the city. The scholarship program commenced in September 2012, and so far, awards (worth a total of nearly VND20 billion) have been presented in 61 provinces and cities, actively assisting and encouraging children with difficulties, those living in remote areas, poor families and orphaned children.  Photo: Thanh Ngan On this occasion, Vice State President Nguyen Thi Doan who is also NFVC Chairwoman, presented 10 long-term sponsorships, each worth VND5 million, to needy kids from Hai Phong city. This year, the Fund set a target of mobilizing around VND1.5 billion from organizations, enterprises, individuals and golden hearts to assist 186 kids of officials and soldiers who are on duty protecting national sovereignty by carrying out surgeries for children with congenital heart defects, challenged mobility, deadly diseases, providing long-term sponsorship and/or direct support…/. |
