Vietnamese people nationwide celebrate New Year

Like people elsewhere worldwide, Vietnamese people throughout the country had many joyous activities on New Years’ Eve and expressed good wishes for happy and prosperous New Year to each other, last night.






People enjoy firework display in Ho Chi Minh City.



The much awaited event was a 15-minute firework display in combination with light art performances at the Bitexco Financial Tower in Ho Chi Minh City’s District 1.


The art of visual effects in motion pictures gave audiences an opportunity to enjoy images of national flag, Party flag, President Ho Chi Minh’s portrait and the city’s icons.


Another low-range firework display took place at the Dam Sen Park in District 11.

The city has seen many cultural events, including the 2015 New Year Festival in September 23 Park; a ‘Street Lighting’ program featuring thousands of colorful lights in the City Center; and art performances at Labor Culture Palace, in front of Thu Thiem tunnel’s gate in District 2, in Rach Mieu Indoor Stadium in Phu Nhuan District, Nga Ba Giong Martyr Monument in Hoc Mon District, National Cultural and Historical Park in District 9 and Can Thanh Town in Can Gio District on December 31 and January 1.






Hanoians greet New Year on Trang Tien Street



In Hanoi, tourists and local people flocked to the Cach Mang Thang Tam (August Revolution) and Ly Thai To squares in the capital center.


More than 50 art performances celebrating New Year 2015 will be held throughout Hanoi from December 31 to January 1.

Hue City organized a ceremony welcoming the 30th million visitor to Hue relics in the 1994-2014 period and honored individuals who made great contributions to Hue relics in 2014.

The New Year Countdown Party themed “I love Da nang-Happy New Year 2015″ drew thousands of domestic and foreign visitors at the March 29 Square.


According to the city’s Department of Culture, Sport and Tourism, Da Nang receives about 13,530 tourists, including 7,750 international travelers and 4,800 local holiday makers in the New Year 2015, presenting a year-on-year increase of 26 percent.
