(VOVworld) – Two suspected terrorists were killed and one arrested in an anti-terror operation Thursday in the Belgian city of Verviers.
The centre of Verviers was sealed off by heavily armed police.
No police or civilian casualties have been reported so far. Belgium’s terror threat level was raised to three – the second highest level – following the raid. After Thursday’s raid, Belgian prosecutor Van Der Sypt said the suspects opened fire on the police before being shot down. All three suspects have Belgian citizenship.
