Iconic singers including Dam Vinh Hung and Quang Dung will take part in a charity music show at Dong Dao Bar on February 3 to raise funds for gifts to be given to children in the border areas of Vietnam to celebrate the lunar New Year (Tet), which arrives in two weeks.
Tuoi Tre Newspaper and has attracted donations from a large amount of individuals and enterprises.
On behalf of Tuoi Tre, singer Dam Vinh Hung has invited many others to join the event, including Duong Trieu Vu, Giang Hong Ngoc, Trong Khuong, Khanh Binh, Ngoc Tram and Han Thai Tu.
Dong Dao Bar — located at 164 Pasteur, Ben Nghe Ward, District 1, Ho Chi Minh City – is contributing to the event by not charging for the organization of the show and making banners and designing the background of the stage.
Nguyen Thanh Lam, the manager of Dong Dao, said he will donate all proceeds from the show to the campaign.
“The topic of the music show will be ‘The Arms of Love’ and we want to call upon the community to share the difficulties of our people living in the border areas,” said Dam Vinh Hung.
“When we in the city are preparing to go shopping for Tet, children and elderly people on the border need just a warm jacket or a pair of sandals for this cold season.
“They long for a meal with meat.
“We are hoping to extend our arms of love so that all people in the community can enjoy a happy and peaceful Tet,” the singer added.
During the music show, set to start at 9:00pm on Tuesday, Dam Vinh Hung will also donate some of his belongings to auction off for the campaign.
On February 2, a day before the show at Dong Dao, Dam Vinh Hung will join Tuoi Tre to give 670 Tet gifts to pupils of Tan Khanh Hoa School in Giang Thanh District of the Mekong Delta province of Kien Giang.
