(CPV) - Enterprises who joining Tet price stabilisation programmes in the southern provinces of Dong Nai and Binh Duong set up specific plans for commodity reserves during the Lunar New year (Tet holiday 2015) to avoid goods shortage.

Accordingly, the Dong Nai provincial Department of Industry and Trade, in association with the provincial Department of Finance, appraised loans of 31 enterprises to stockpile commodities for Tet with a total budget of more than VND35 billion. Essential goods such as pork, chicken meat, eggs, sugar, cooking oil and rice will be sold at lower cost of 5%-10% than the market’s price.


Some of these enterprises will be assisted with transport fees to carry out 92 mobile Tet commodity shipments to serve people in rural areas in Dong Nai. In addition, few enterprises in the province were active in stockpiling goods for Tet with a total capital of more than VND500 billion.


Aiming to serve the shopping demand during Tet, Co.opmart Binh Duong supermarket is preparing nearly 2,200 tonnes of commodities, valued at about VND 45 billion. This included 128 tonnes of food, 320 tonnes of livestock and poultry, 44 tonnes of processed food, 490 tonnes of technological products and 1,200 tonnes of fruit and vegetables.

Ms. Trinh Thi Mai Han, Deputy Director of Co.opmart Binh Duong supermarket said that under the Binh Duong provincial Department of Industry and Trade’s support, the supermarket was advanced money to reserve nine essential goods for Tet holiday 2015. They are rice, sugar, cooking oil, livestock, poultry, processed food, fruit and vegetables, eggs and seafood products.


So far, Co.opmart Binh Duong has fulfilled its plan on stockpiling Tet goods. It is also expected to coordinate with providers to offer a 10%-15% discount on some products on the days near Tet.


According to Ms. Han, purchasing capacity during the Tet holiday is expected to increase by 15%-20% compared to that of the earlier Tet season. The increase also only focuses on essential commodities such as confectionary, food and fruit and vegetables.


Ms. Pham Thi Kim Van, Director of Vinatex Binh Duong supermarket said that the supermarket has planned to prepare Tet commodities with stabilized price. They still focus on consumer products and fresh food like meat, fruits, vegetables, rice, sugar and cooking oil.


Some other supermarkets, namely BigC and CitiMart have also fulfilled preparations for Tet goods./.
