(Cinet)- The opening ceremony of the film week in celebration of the 85th founding anniversary of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) (February 3) and the lunar New Year 2015 was held in Hanoi on January 31.
Addressing the event, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sport and Culture Vuong Duy Bien said the film week contributes to further educating the nation’s history, culture as well as affirming national sovereign and territorial integrity.
The screening of “Thau Chin o Xiem” (Thau Chin in Siam) depicting the time late President Ho Chi Minh spent in Thailand was premiered to launch the film week.
The 100-minute film, shot by the Vietnam Cinema Association, features revolutionary activities undertaken by the late President in Thailand during 1928-1929 to prepare for the establishment of the Viet Nam Communist Party.
On this occasion, “Nguoi Tinh Nguyen” (The Volunteers) will be also screened, exclusively for ethnic minority people in remote areas and islands.
The event will last until February 15.
