HN’s CPI slightly decreases in January

VGP – Ha Noi’s Consumer Price Index in January dropped 0.17% compared to December 2014 and up 0.67% against the same month in 2014.

According to the municipal Department of Statistics, the decrease is attributed to a reduction in petroleum price, which led to a fall of 3.78% in transport service price.


The group of housing and building materials, electricity, water and fuel showed a decline of 1.18% compared to the previous month.


In January, seven among 11 items saw a rise in prices.


The garment and footwear groups increased 0.69%.


The other groups witnessed a slight increase such as equipment and home appliances up 0.14%, medicines and health care service up 0.06%, and foodstuff up 0.45%.


The education and telecommunication prices remained unchanged.


The gold and US dollar prices rose 1.23% and 0.09%, respectively.
