VietNamNet Bridge – Land and house buyers and sellers will increasingly carry out their transactions via internet, according to CBRE, a multinational real estate service provider, and Genesis, a Chinese investor and real estate developer.

They believe that from 2030, the majority of real estate transactions will be carried out online.

The traditional real estate transaction forms have been changing slowly. But the new “revolution” in technologies means both buyers and sellers will make transactions via internet to save time and costs.

Nguyen Huu Chuong, a real estate broker, agrees that making transactions via internet will be dominant in the future, both in Vietnam and the rest of the world.

“You can look for information more easily on internet than in print. You’ll just need some clicks to find the products you want, which fit your financial pockets and your tastes,” Chuong said, adding that Muabannhadat.com and Muaban are the websites he usually accesses.

“You can make quick searches on the internet, make comparisons and learn about market prices just with simple operations with your computers, laptops and especially, smartphones, which have become popular and portable,” he added.

Vu Thi Tuyet, who said she successfully sold a house via Muabannhadat.com.vn, also noted that the internet is a reliable “intermediary party” that bridges buyers and sellers.

“It will cost you less to post your ad pieces on websites than on printed newspapers,” Tuyet said. “The majority of urbanites look for information on computers, laptops and smartphones nowadays. Printed newspapers are just for old and retired people.”

She said smartphones nowadays are quite affordable for Vietnamese, while the internet and computers have become quite familiar to Vietnamese, including those in rural and remote areas.

Experts noted that real estate developers have paid more attention to providing services via internet. It is convenient to seek partners and customers on the internet, while they can also provide more utilities to customers alongside traditional services like selling or leasing.

According to Sai Gon Giai Phong newspaper, www.123muanha.vn is the first real estate e-commerce website in Vietnam. Owned by Dat Xanh Group, the website officially debuted in August 2013.

Thoi bao Kinh Te Viet Nam reported that rongbay.com is the unit which first organized an online house trading session, which took place on July 15-19 2014.

Meanwhile, real estate brokers said they heard about an “online real estate market” – Wikinhadat.com – that began in February 2012.
