(CPV) - Ho Chi Minh city put six major transport projects into operation in January 2015, said the municipal Department of Transport on December 30th.


Mr. Dau An Phuc, Head of the Department of Transport’s Traffic Infrastructure Exploitation Officesaid that the six projects include overpass over Highway 1 and Huong Lo 2, Thanh Da canal bridge, Kieu bridge, Ong Buong bridge, Luy Ban Bich road and Long Thanh – Dau Giay expressway.


Specifically, the overpass project over Highway 1 and Huong Lo 2 in Binh Tan district, capitalized with VND407 billion, is 504 meters in length and 17.6 meters in width with four traffic lanes. It will open to traffic on January 1st, 2015.


The second project of Thanh Da canal bridge, invested by the No. 1 Urban Transport Management Area, was built to connect Thanh Da peninsula to the centre of the ity. It is 700 meters in length and 21 meters in width with four traffic lanes. The bridge opened to temporary traffic at 4:00 pm of December 31st, 2014.


The remaining projects will be inaugurated in January 2015. They are expected to contribute to reducing traffic congestion in the city in the near future./.
